Learners License РThe first step of getting a driving license in India is Learners License. This Learners License is an official document issued by RTO of the respective state. Steps to apply for a Learners License through online:

  • Find transport department website for your particular state or RTO website
  • See if state website provides online service or not
  • If state offers online facility then read the instructions carefully
  • Fill the application form with required information like name, fathers name, postal code, Aadhar number, locality etc
  • Upload the scanned documents (as mentioned above)
  • In some websites, you will able to download the form and later submit the application form at RTO office before the driving test
  • You must submit the other documents in original at RTO before taking the test
  • After successful completion of driving test at RTO office, your Learners License will send to your mentioned residential address

Process to apply for Learners License through offline:

  • Visit your nearest RTO office and collect Application form for Learners License
  • Or else you can download the Learners License application forms through official websites
  • Fill the form carefully and attach the photos where every necessary
  • Submit the filled application form along with required documents to RTO officer
  • Also, schedule the Learners License driving test by choosing slot
  • Once you pass the test your Learners License will send to your mentioned address or will be directly offered on spot depending on RTO

The Learners License application form contains 2 sections as follows

  • Particulars to be furnished by applicant
  • Personal details like name, address, birthplace, date of birth
  • Type of Indian citizenship with documentation
  • Previous driving licenses held with details (if any)
  • Educational qualifications
  • Driving school certificate
  • Blood group
  • Exemption from medical test
  • Declaration that particulars entered in above section are true, with signature of guardian/parent of applicant
